Citrine—a fascinating gemstone from the quartz family, is the ultimate symbol of bright sunshine and a hopeful future. Bring you vibrant energy simultaneously; it’s also ideal for everyday-wearing gemstones in contemporary jewelry fashion. Come to find out more about brilliant citrine with SHE·SAID·YES!

Overview

Citrine, a bright quartz variety, is rare in nature. It used to be confused with yellow Topaz, but it was actually a crystalline mineral. With several submicroscopic distributions of colloidal ferric hydroxide impurities, it showcases a vivid and clear yellow to brown color from the inside out. For the attractive color, the citrine has been the top-selling yellow-to-orange gem in the recent market.

Origin

Lots of countries own citrine mineral resources, such as Bolivia; the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Madagascar; Mexico, etc. But only the state of Rio Grande does Sul of Brazil virtually owns almost all natural citrine resources. As the leading producer of this beautiful yellow crystal,  Brazil has the most renowned and high-quality citrine worldwide.

History

While citrine has a long history in gem jewelry, it is not as popular as emeralds and rubies. In fact, the ancient Romans preferred decorating their intaglio artwork and quaint church architecture with these unique yellow citrine gemstones. Also, they were precious ornaments to decorate the handles of daggers during the 17th century. However, only came in modern times that citrines become prevalent. Thanks to the mining technology and lab-grown gemstone development, people started to notice the beauty of the citrines and used them to create fanciful jewelry.

Benefits and Properties

Prized since ancient times, the magnificent citrine is also famous for the “success stone.” It reflected the spirit of the sun, positivity, growth, and happiness. Likewise, these outstandingly efficient healing functions could exude positive energy to release your anxiety, eliminate negative emotions, and help with mental clarity. The cheeriness of the citrines evokes thoughts of joy and elevated moods.
