What color gives you satisfaction? I believe the most popular answer is blue. After all, the sky is blue, the oceans are blue, and even the Earth we live on is a beautiful dark blue sphere. And the sapphire’s clear blue color like the deep sea represents the everlasting vitality of the earth. Today, Go with me to explore this blue gemstone- sapphire.

Overview

Sapphire is a precious gemstone, a variety of the mineral corundum, It is typically blue, but natural “fancy” sapphires also occur in yellow, purple, orange, and green colors. All colors of gem-grade corundum other than rubies are called sapphires. Red corundum with chromium has a reddish hue, so it is called ruby. Blue Sapphire, on the other hand, is due to its tiny amount of titanium and iron.

Origin

There are few sapphire-producing areas globally, mainly including Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Australia, China, etc. However, in terms of gem quality, Myanmar and Sri Lanka are the best. It can be divided into two categories according to different geological origins: One is Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Kashmir, India. The other is Australia, Thailand, and China.

India Kashmir Sapphire. The color is cornflower blue, which is indigo with a faint purple. It has high brilliance and bright color. Foggy inclusions in it have a milky white reflective effect. We can call it the best sapphire.

History

The ancient Persians believed that a giant Sapphire held up the earth. When the sun shines on the earth, reflected by the brilliance of Sapphire, the sky becomes a peaceful and enchanting blue.

For centuries, it is a symbol of royalty and romance. Princess Diana and Prince Charles wear sapphire jewelry at their wedding. Her engagement ring provides a bridge between the history and mythology of gemstones and contemporary events.

Care Instructions Of Sapphire

The enemy of jewelry including two items. The first one is oil. Any gem once stained with oil will lose its original luster; Do not touch the gems with your hands frequently because there will be oil secretion on your hands, which will also affect the luster of the gems. The second is acid, alkaline substances, and other common items such as cosmetics, perfume, soap may contain acid and alkali substances. At the same time, remember to wear your jewelry in order: put on your makeup first, then wear your gems.
